DONATION TOWARDS RESTORATIVE SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR THE UNLAWFUL AND ILLEGAL EVICTION OF THE MAKHUMALO FAMILY AT PORTION 44 FARM WATERVAL KLIPRIVIER, EKURHULULENI CASE NUMBER LCC48/2022 LAND CLAIMS COURT, JOHANNESBURG

  1. The Makhumalo family worked and resided on the farm for more than 40 years uninterrupted.Portion 44 Farm Waterval, Kliprivier, in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg.
  2. The previous farm owner had given Makhumalo a right of lawful occupation {lawful occupier} as required by the Extension of Security of Tenure Act 62 of 1997.
  3. In March 2022, an attempt to unlawfully and illegally remove the Makhumalo family was made and was aborted by an urgent application at the Land Claims Court in Johannesburg.
  4. Makhumalo is 83 years old and still lives in a mud house with his large family and grandchildren.

Request for donations:

  1. Donations to build a decent house for the Makhumalo family are hereby humbly requested to affirm their constitutional rights of access to adequate housing.
  2. Agricultural equipment to work the piece of land on their smallholding.
  3. Funds to buy decent household furniture for the family.
  4. A one-time fund for general welfare {grandchildren}.
